Setting Up Stripe for GrabOne Partner Payments
GrabOne uses the Stripe payment platform to process GrabOne Partner payments.
Before you launch your first deal on GrabOne, you must connect your merchant account to Stripe in order to receive payouts.
Once you have completed your GrabOne Account Application in the GrabOne Merchant Portal, you'll need to set up Stripe.
Tip: Stripe set up is best completed on a desktop or laptop rather than a mobile device. Have all your documents ready before starting to make the process quicker.
Before you begin
To make the process as smooth as possible, have the following ready before you start:
Your business registration details (legal business name, address, and NZBN if applicable)
Your IRD number / tax identification details
Details of the business owner or a nominated representative (including name and contact information)
A government-issued photo ID (passport or driver's licence) for identity verification
Proof of home address (e.g. a utility bill or bank statement)
Your NZ business bank account number (for receiving payouts)
A mobile phone for two-factor authentication
Important: The business name you enter in Stripe must exactly match the name on your business documents. For example, if your documents say "GrabOne NZ Limited", you must enter it the same way in Stripe - not "GrabOne NZ" or "GrabOne". Mismatches can delay your verification.
Note on documents: Stripe may ask for two separate documents - a proof of ID and a proof of home address. Make sure your bank account is a business account if your Stripe account is set up as a business. Documents must be uploaded directly through the Stripe Dashboard and cannot be sent by email.
Follow these steps
Login to the GrabOne Merchant Portal
In the left-hand menu, click Settings then Account Application
Click Start Stripe Onboarding
You'll be redirected to Stripe - follow the prompts to enter your business details and verify your identity
Add your NZ bank account to receive payouts
Review and confirm all your details, then click Agree and Submit
You'll be redirected back to the GrabOne Merchant Portal once complete
What happens after you submit?
Stripe will review your information as part of their standard verification process. This is a regulatory requirement and helps keep payments safe and secure. In most cases, verification is completed quickly, but Stripe may contact you if any additional documents are needed.
Once verified, your Stripe account will be active and you'll be ready to receive payouts from your GrabOne deals.
Having trouble?
If you get partway through and need to stop, don't worry - you can return and continue from where you left off. In the Merchant Portal, go to Settings > Account Application and click Continue Stripe Onboarding.
If Stripe asks for additional verification documents, upload them directly through your Stripe Dashboard - do not send documents by email.
If your document is rejected, check that it is not expired, is an original scan or photo (not a screenshot), and that the name on the document exactly matches the name in your Stripe account.
